Job Description

This position is responsible for managing the supply chain area, including the purchase of direct and indirect materials, supplier management including the selection and maintenance of relationships with a group of national and international companies in support of national production and the development of new products, issuance of purchase orders for materials, equipment, spare parts, services, supplies and others as necessary. Among main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Develops all standard operating procedures required for the proper functioning of the area.
  • Leads the generation and adjustment of purchase orders based on MRP (material requirements planning) together with the pertinent information that is used for the operation of the business, such as: compliance with schedules, Samp;OP, etc.
  • Interacts with headquarters for alignment with customer purchase forecast, intersite material supply, finished product shipment, etc.
  • Coordinates a purchase action based on authorized spending amounts.
  • Ensures along whith team members optimal inventory levels aligned with all areas of the company and determines the appropriate priorities for material needs.
  • Ensures the correct tracking and monitoring of POs, monitoring any issues/delays and communicating any impact/restriction to any affected areas.
  • Coordinate outsourced materials
  • Generates purchase orders related to services, equipment, spare parts and other expenses as required by the company.
  • Develops and maintains the inventory system for the company including direct and indirect materials and supplies.
  • Implements and maintains all the requirements for the correct operation of the company under the Free Zone Regime.
  • Selects suppliers according to company guidelines and includes selected suppliers in the company's systems.
  • Develops supplier contracts as required by the company.
  • Monitors and communicates delivery quality and performance to vendor and global operations team.
  • Responsible for resolving vendor related issues (works closely with vendors to ensure a positive and professional relationship by always establishing and maintaining open lines of communication)
  • Controls the assets in the suppliers, disposing of obsolete assets and supervising the age of the others when applicable.
  • Ensures on-time deliveries with customers and communicates constantly with customers
  • Aligns with the production area to understand the clientsrequirements and the processes required to meet them.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering, administration or relevant areas.
  • Specialty in logistics, supply chain, project management is desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in highly regulated industry with progressive responsibilities in leadership position. Purchasing and planning experience is considered relevant.
  • Fully bilingual English-Spanish
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Highly oriented to meet customers needs
  • Highly skilled in negotiation and planning
  • Excellent ability to solve complex situations
