World Business Lenders (WBL) provides general purpose short-term real estate collateralized commercial loans to a broad customer base comprised of small and medium sized businesses throughout the United States that lack access to traditional funding.

WBL is a U.S.-based company with a 100% remote workforce. The company is seeking to bolster its staff with qualified talent.

This is a remote Contract/Consultant position. Generally, working hours will be 9:00am-6:00pm Eastern Time, although hours worked may be greater based upon operational requirements. The job requires Excellentoral and written command of the English language.Resumes must be submitted in English.

About the Job:

The Database Administrator (DBA) and Helpdesk Assistant Manager will work as part of a team to provide business continuity and IT Operations to the WBL team. The DBA role will be relied on to manage and improve multiple siloed database environments and provide centralized data analytics and reporting solutions for WBL’s PowerBI users.

The individual will support the IT Director and Helpdesk Manager in managing vendor relationships, updating business continuity plans for information security risks and outages, end-user IT support, and training on business applications and systems. Proficiency in supporting Windows desktop and server applications (SQL, O365, Adobe, etc.) and hardware is an important function for this role. This role reports to the Helpdesk Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficient with relational databases, data lake technologies, SQL, and ETL, including the ability to query and extract datasets to support the BI Analytics and Reporting group.
  • Manage vendor relationships and assist in business continuity planning.
  • Support WBL Azure infrastructure: servers, SQL databases, networking, security, etc.
  • Incident Management: ability to respond to, diagnose, and resolve user-reported issues related to software, hardware, and network.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • 100% Excellent English, with exceptional English verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline with a minimum of 2 or more years of work experience in a business environment.
  • Proficient with relational databases, data lake technologies, SQL, and ETL, including the ability to query and extract datasets to support the BI Analytics and Reporting group.
  • The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and have excellent written and communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and good attention to detail in all aspects of administrative support.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and to manage multiple issues and demands.
  • Must be dependable by meeting deadlines, working independently, being accountable for work, and having good attendance record management.
  • A strong sense of urgency and a desire to succeed
  • You must have your own computer/laptop - the company does not supply equipment

Benefits

Compensation/Other:

  • CONTRACT/CONSULTANCY POSITION
  • $3,000 - $3,500 USD per month, depending on experience.
  • 11 US Holidays paid
